Governing Board
The Governing Board is the highest authority of SARSO, vested with all powers relating to its functioning. The Governing Board consists of Heads of the respective National Standards Body of each Member States and representative of Ministry of Economic Development, Republic of Maldives. The Chairperson of the Technical Management Board, the Secretary General of SAARC or his representative and Director General of the SARSO are the ex Members of the Governing Board. The Chairperson of the Governing Board is appointed from among the Members.
What Does Our Governing Board Do?
Sets the direction for regional standardization and makes key decisions about SARSO's activities.
Promotes cooperation between member countries to develop unified standards.
Works to harmonize standards across South Asia facilitate trade and economic growth.
Ensures the development of high-quality standards that benefit all member nations.
